The famous Japanese artist, painter, and printmaker, Utagawa Hiroshige (1797 – 1858), is best known for his woodblock print series, “The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido,” from which this collection is drawn in part. The beautiful ukiyo-e prints (“pictures of the floating world”) chosen for this paper pack boast flowing outlines and colourful forms.
